HOLY SHITBALLS!

all of you lovely people must've thought i'd forgotten about this blog...

well guess what?!

i haven't!

it's been 5 months!!!!

5 MONTHS!

boy do i have a lot to catch you up on!

so let's cut to it, here goes!

first off, if my blog seems a little lacking in the archives, it's because i deleted all those gay emo posts from when bean and i had separated for a few months... and that's the first order of business! yeah, we've been back together for a long time actually, our little small town hearts reunited at the drive-in in shiner watching the crappiest movie ever, disturbia haha! how romantic are we.

so what else, i bade farewell to my teenage years on july 6th, i don't feel any different still but it is funny how i forget a majority of the time someone asks me my age and i say 19 on impulse. as august came around, bean got herself a job working at tornado tee's in shiner. cool job. cool boss. and around that time we registered for our classes.

bleh... classes.

i didn't last long this time. first, i find that my guitar classes have been pulled in order to "cut back" which ruined the whole idea of why i was going to college. then i find that the 2 music classes i DO have... i'm sharing them with the worst 2 people from my previous courses... yeah, college classes, 3 students... it sucked royally. and then all the basics, philosophy, brit. lit., and psychology. philosophy was dropped so fast because it was an ITV class. i did those in high school and the instructor was at the college. and this time, of all places, my instructor was broadcasting from gonzales, had no idea how to work the damn thing, didn't speak up, and in general, just sucked.

eventually, i just dropped all of my classes this semester. it really ruined the experience for me. i wasn't having fun learning anymore. and like i said, with no guitar classes, what was the point really.

good riddance victoria college.

so what else.

before school started, bean and i made our move from apartment 902 to an efficiency building in 413.

i didn't want to leave this complex. it's nice. and i like it lots. of course our little home is much smaller, but much more cozy =]

this past summer also started my extensive role on xbox live. i played non-stop on halo 2 for months, then this past september, with the release of halo 3, i'm pretty sure i played all night the day it came out and still pwn plenty of n00bs to this day!

october rolls around:

things at work are getting a bit hectic with the loss of our store manager but j.v. takes over and maintains the store wonderfully. however, the main event of october came with derek's first homecoming from marine training! he came back, scatchy voiced and all. it's clear to see he has an appreciation for everything on the earth right now. it's awesome, i'm proud of him. though i still don't quite agree with the thought that my own country is training him how to kill, i tend to look at it from a different perspective. he's training to go out and fight for MY freedom. it truly is the best gift anyone can give, willingly nonetheless. thanks derek! we're always rootin' for you!

what else! ashton turned 21 in october i know as well! holla!

halloween was quite fun, bean and i, jay and holly and chris and renae all got together and trick-or-treat-ed throughout random neighborhoods and then hit up denny's for a late night snack. it was sweeeeeet.

november arrives!

with the news flying around town like wildfire, work becomes stressful as everyone and their mom is coming in for misfits tickets! yeah i thought it too, the misfits. in our lame ass town. needless to say the show was awesome. the luchadores got to open up on the outside stage. the highlight of that night however was when our poor holly got knocked out in the pit as a random crowd-surfer's boot found her head. as we rushed her outside to get her air, all was hectic in our little family as some were wanting to get her to the hospital, while she was trying to come to so she could meet her heroes. finally, with efforts of everyone with us, she got to see them all! and even took home jerry's water bottle! what an evening that was.

speaking of the luchadores though! at the beginning of november, we played the bodog battle of the bands in austin! playing on marshall half stacks is insanely amazing.

with the conclusion of that night, we advanced to the next round and made lots of fans and friends. once we got home, we threw a big benefit show for our fans. money went to producing the first round of luchadore t-shirts! and even more went to our plan to get as many people in next round's show for free. this was because each band was given 100 tickets each to sell. we ended up raising enough money to give away half of our tickets!

finally december:

first off, the luchadores go into the next round. we rocked the stage with our new material and all of our friends are there. people are digging it, people we don't know are raising their fists and shouting with us! it's awesome. the night ends and the luchadores do not advance =[

HOWEVER, now we got to work, for each band that did not make the cut this time around, they were all placed in a wildcard voting slot. so for 7 days we gathered up troops, went public with newspaper articles, radio broadcasts and so on and got the whole town plus more to vote for us and we end up winning the votes! so in february, we go to dallas as the austin wildcard!

the big news for me this month however was the introduction of our new family member, LOUIE! on december 1st on our way to santanna's wedding, bean and i adopted us a new full bred miniature dachshund! in a nutshell, he's crazy. he only pees and poops on MY side of the bed. he chews on everything, including my face. and his kill word is "banana". i love him. = ]

and now here we are, present day. another christmas comes and goes. i get some purdy cool shits this year. including plenty of cash, a new keyboard piano, a GOOD capo for my guitar, super mario galaxy a friggen sweet dachshund puzzle that's in the shape of the dog itself and with the money i got, i finally got my own digital camcorder! the day after christmas, my beanhead turned 21 and can finally buy, drive with and drink her alcohol legally! w00t!

boy... what a year it's been. don't get me wrong, there was a lot more stuff that happened, just hard to remember all of it. and now within 3 days comes a new year, and a new year's resolution... wish me luck as i take on the hardest one i made for myself but the best in my opinion: NO fast food. NO sodas. yup. i'm ready. helloooooooooooooooooooo 2008!

that's all for now folks! thanks for reading! happy holidays! happy new year! we're gonna party at the apartment on new year's if you'd like to come! and now for some more of this year's highlights:

That Time of Year

YUP! so it's been almost 2 long months since my last post!

within the month of June, a lot of things have happened! so this post could be rather long!

let's get started:

really nothing much happened in may, about the end of may, i got 2 new roommates and things have been going smoothly. there's a lot more stuff in the house and more gaming stuff which has enabled us to start up our online xbox360 playing. funfun. during this time i also got a second job at chili's waiting on tables again.

the month of june showed to be much more eventful though. i started to go and see bean a lot more :) we've been doing great and things have started to look bright for the 2 of us and i've never been happier. another reason for there not being too much going on was the whole 2 job thing! it was a doozie! anyways, on june 16th we finally got our chance to go see rise against play their headlining tour! finally! needless to say it was amazing. their energy on stage made it one of the best shows this year thus far. poor chrysta, always looking forward to going to shows and dancing around had to stand on the side this time so halfway through the set i went out of the pit and hung out with her for a bit and then took off again. all in all, a good show :) a couple days later i also visited corpus with bean and chrysta on a whim. we went to the mall there and then through the horrible rain we drove to the beach and hung out for an hour or so. then it was off back home. the next day was the day i was looking forward to for a long time. 6-25-07, monday night raw in corpus! man was i excited! i spent the night in shiner and waited for bean to get off of work. then found out that art couldn't go to the event with us so we got mason to come along with us and we were off! needless to say, by the time mason finally got with us it was for sure that we would be late so i started to haul ass! as soon as we got into victoria however i got a call that took me aback from my buddy neal, he told me that he had just read that chris benoit and his family had been found and that we could be in store for something strange at raw. however, he didn't quite say what had happened and i could barely hear him due to bad signal. finally, we got into corpus and i get another call, this time from mc white chocolate. we had been updated that vince mcmahon (was was supposed to be dead) was in the middle of the ring stating that chris benoit and his family had in fact been found dead in his home. i was in total shock and couldn't believe it. so we got to the american bank center and were told by a staff person that the event had been cancelled! so it had to be pretty serious stuff to cancel the entire event. needless to say i was very disappointed and we stuck around for a bit to see if anything was to change. but once we saw jeff hardy drive away in his car, it looked as though nothing would be happening tonight so we drove back home and that was that :( chris benoit was really dead, along with his wife and 7-year old son. and now one week later exactly, and june is already gone and i will officially be saying goodbye to my teenage years in 4 days :(

but on the bright side, there's a lot of new and exciting stuff in store for me this month, lots of cool shows including warped tour and reel big fish with streetlight manifesto! along with my birfday ^_^ and very possibly my first acoustic show with my acoustic co-ops through out town :) and to top it all off, it looks like i can rent an apartment and not get kicked out for an entire year! the lease ends this month and i'll be getting my own place here i'm hoping :) so like i said, lots of things in store for me :) and don't worry friends, just because i'll be by myself doesn't mean my open door policy won't stand, feel free to drop by any time! the couch rules!

love love love to all of you!

Talkin' 'bout My Girl[s] - A Tribute

So yesterday was a rather fun day. Well, at least some of it. So, Cinco de Mayo. It was the Luchadores' 2 year anniversary and we were excited to be playing a show out of town for a crowd we knew respected us. However, who'd've thunk it, once again we were the outcast band thrown in the mix of a bunch of METAL (not hardcore) bands. Well after finding our way through the crowded streets, we got our stuff unpacked and into the venue. Nice place really. Then before we knew it, we were told we were playing around 11:00. So we waited and then suddenly we're finally getting onstage around 12:30. Now the crowd has dispersed and we're playing in front of the people that WE brought.

Needless to say the ride home sucked without company and thoughts racing through my head about our crappy show.

But anyways, this post as you can see is not for the Luchadores. I just thought I'd let people in on some band news.

anyways, i wanted to do something a little different. yesterday, my real fun was happening with my best friends. the day started with holly [geno] and jay coming over to hang out before i took off to corpus. we chilled for a bit and once chrysta arrived the girls went about their make-up routines as jay and i watched and poked fun. then it was off to corpus. chrysta and i met up with bean and art and once bean saw chrysta's new lip piercings, she wanted one there on the spot. so i took it into my hands to find a shop and we did. we went inside and bean got a lil stud through her lip. it's cute :). but during that time was when i was having fun no doubt. i even could've done without the show.

anyways, again that was yesterday and i'm getting off track again so without further ado... my girls :)

HOLLY [GENO]

I met Holly a couple of years ago, and at first she didn't even appear to have any urge to get to know us at all. Soon enough however, we would find that friends would eventually link us all together. Things got kinda rocky in the middle and I'm not really quite sure what happened much less why. But now, things have been taking a turn towards the right way. Holly's done a lot for me lately and Holly, I still can't thank you enough for being there when I just needed some company. The trip to Austin to see Nekromantix was fun on account that the bands we saw, I had never really heard about. But we had fun all the same. Thanks again for everything Holly, you're one of those people that I live for day by day, a true friend. You'll always be my "homeless lump" on the stoop :)

CHRYSTA [THE FETT]

Just like Holly, Chrysta and I met years ago when we were introduced through my old friend Juan. I've seen her ups and downs through the years and have stuck by her whenever I possibly could and she did the same for me. When we had our first real discussion ever I remember thinking to myself, man, it's fun talking to this person and our friendship grew and grew into what it is now. I always look forward to your visits and that's why I'm always asking whether or not you'll be at the apartment when I come home :P. My favorite thing about Chrysta however is the personality. There's something about a person who will say "I feel like shit" and have me reply "You LOOK like shit" and then exclaim "THANK YOU!" Or who will suddenly remember, "Oh and by the way, I'm in Victoria" on a night where I'd least expect it. The times we've shared together have been great and I couldn't ask for a better companion. Thank you Chrysta for your impact on me!

and last but certainly Never least...

BREA [BEAN]

There's so much to say about you that I haven't already said before. You stole my heart from the beginning and probably didn't realize it but you did. My first love and I couldn't have asked for a better one. I grew up having people tell me, you just think you're in love with people. Well, those people are the ones who grow up to be in the shittiest of relationships and I made sure to not fall under that category. Brea and I have shared more than a lot together. Almost feels like a lifetime and mentally, I still stick by her every decision. I know I held her back on things a lot during the years but I always regret doing so. Because once it's done, I fall in love all over again. I can't help it. But I won't get all depressing and what not, I'm here to pay tribute. There's no real way of describing this girl other than constant. Constantly thinking ahead, constantly aware, constantly caring for others. It's beautiful. I know I'm not the best at all with words much less something like poetry but if I could turn this into one, I'm sure it would have significant meaning. Words cannot describe how much I will continue to care about you. You're my best friend. My ally. And I know that whenever I'm starting to have a hard time, you'll be there to tell me that it'll all be ok. and like I've told you, I know that you're sincere. That's what makes everything so comforting these days. Are thanks in order? No. Because they would not be enough to express my gratitude for everything you gave me. You gave me my new way of life all together and I adore you for that. I'll always love you, no matter what the case. Forever, and a day...

These girls make my world spin. Without them, I don't know where I'd be. While constantly thinking about how I could possibly repay them for the pieces of their hearts and minds, I felt this was one of the best ways to do so.

You're my girls. and I love you to death.

A Lady of A Certain Age

Back in the day you had been part of the smart set
You'd holidayed with kings, dined out with starlets
From London to New York, Cap Ferrat to Capri
In perfume by Chanel and clothes by Givenchy
You sipped camparis with David and Peter
At Noel's parties by Lake Geneva
Scaling the dizzy heights of high society
Armed only with a cheque-book and a family tree

You chased the sun around the Cote d'Azur
Until the light of youth became obscured
And left you on your own and in the shade
An English lady of a certain age
And if a nice young man would buy you a drink
You'd say with a conspiratorial wink
"You wouldn't think that I was seventy"
And he'd say,"no, you couldn't be!"

You had to marry someone very very rich
So that you might be kept in the style to which
You had all of your life been accustomed to
But that the socialists had taxed away from you
You gave him children, a girl and a boy
To keep your sanity a nanny was employed
And when the time came they were sent away
Well that was simply what you did in those days

You chased the sun around the Cote d'Azur
Until the light of youth became obscured
And left you on your own and in the shade
An English lady of a certain age
And if a nice young man would buy you a drink
You'd say with a conspiratorial wink
"You wouldn't think that I was sixty three"
And he'd say,"no, you couldn't be!

Your son's in stocks and bonds and lives back in Surrey
Flies down once in a while and leaves in a hurry
Your daughter never finished her finishing school
Married a strange young man of whom you don't approve
Your husband's hollow heart gave out one Christmas Day
He left the villa to his mistress in Marseilles
And so you come here to escape your little flat
Hoping someone will fill your glass and let you chat about how

You chased the sun around the Cote d'Azur
Until the light of youth became obscured
And left you all alone and in the shade
An English lady of a certain age
And if a nice young man would buy you a drink
You'd say with a conspiratorial wink
"You wouldn't think that I was fifty three"
And he'd say,"no, you couldn't be!

I'll See You When We All Come Home

so, many a day have gone by since i've posted.

gotta say... i'm doing loads better than last time :P

then again, i've been listening to the bouncing souls A LOT. nothing new i know. but i love them with my all :)

so let's see. for once i don't have much to talk about because i don't think many people actually read this. since my last posts lots of things have been happnin. i dyed my hair [a different color (red)] for the first time ever! i was purdy thrilled about the whole thing :P the day after that my buddy holly, or geno, as i like to call her went to ATX to see the hellcat records tour. it was pretty rad. lots of good bands that i've never really heard before. we decided to hit up waterloo records and one of these days if i'm by myself i think i'm just going to go in there and buy a shit load of stuff. some vinyl too :) everytime i go into a place like that i'm so carried away that i feel that if i linger too long, my company would get bored with me. but maybe i'm wrong. not saying geno doesn't appreciate hanging in a record shop for a really long time. it's just my instinct that tells me people don't like to linger in places like that too long. but hell, i could spend the day there. i'd like to work there.

afterwards, we needed some grub so we walked all the way back to the wendy's on the other side of the highway and did that. then it was off to the show. we saw the heart attacks, time again and nekromantix. all three bands put on a great set and it was a blast.

not much has really happened since then though. i've been loaded down with school work, which will all be over in about 2 weeks!!! WOO!

then starts my brilliant summer. yikes, i gotsta make my money last awhile. but i'm sure my summer shall consist of lots of work and stuff. who knows... maybe i should take a summer class or two, and get my basics out of the way. i don't really feel like doing that though.

anyways, like i said, and sorry this one's so boring and random but i felt like sharing. stay tuned for more interesting blogs later.

23

so i just got back from the theater.

saw "the number 23" tonight.

AMAZING!

jim carrey has truly out done himself as the character he portrays in the movie.

a movie about pure madness... or is it?

great plot, clever twist and a spell that's cast on the entire audience is what's given throughout this entire movie...

it is quite humoring hearing how everyone started to find some 23's of their own after the movie was over but they were not alone.

i'll admit, it was quite strange driving home and seeing the number on:

license plates
gas stations (diesel - $2.39)
a man walking the street in a basketball jersey with the number 23
even my cd player played track 23 the whole way home...
and now. just like walter sparrow (jim carrey), i myself am finding the number everywhere.

my birthdate:

7/6..
7+6=13

add my current age: 19
1+9=10

10+13=23

and yes even my name...

using the letters of the alphabet to the numbers that they are in order:

J-10
O-15
S-19
H-8
U-21
A-1
-------
these numbers added up = 74
7+4=11

M-13
A-1
S-19
S-19
I-9
E-5
-------
these numbers added up = 66
6+6=12
...
...
...
11+12=23...

i'm so doomed but i loved the movie and suggest it to anyone questioning whether or not to see it...

The Rest of My Life

every now and then, one of my favorite bands will create a music video so amazing that i have to share it with everyone.

in this case, i have just discovered the video to Less Than Jake's "The Rest of My Life" needless to say, it was off of their last album which i didn't pick up until recently. however, they never cease to amaze. there's really nothing that can be said about this video except for that it's so true. the more we bring so much hate and drama towards each other, the more childish we get. it's not until we can forgive each other that makes us adults. but if we just continue, we just become childish again. that's what's so amazing about the couple in the end that they threw in. ENJOY!

also! i know that my page cuts off stuff on the right but i cant figure out how to increase the size of this portion of my page. but anyways i love the quotes used on this video. they use two by Alden Nowlan and are as follows:

"The day the child realizes that all adults are imperfect, he becomes an adolescent; the day he forgives them, he becomes an adult..."

and the one at the end says:

"...The day the child forgives himself, he becomes wise."
